Columbus, OH

Well, we finally took the girls out of the state of Illinois! We had a great weekend with all of our friends in Columbus, OH. The girls did great in the car, but it's probably not something we'll do again anytime soon :)

I know it's been forever since there has been a post, so here are some vital stats on the girls:
Anna - walking, 4 teeth (and getting about 5 more, poor girl!), likes to crawl up on the couch and make silly faces.
Sasha - walking, 8 teeth (and getting a few more), tallest, and likes to be the center of attention
Josephine - crawling (finally!), not a tooth in site, likes to hide her food in her high chair and is the chatter box (can say "hi," "bye," "up," "row, row, row," "uh-oh," and "beeper")

Enjoy some new pics!
So big!

One Year Old!

It's hard to believe that our girls are one year old! In some ways the time has flown and in many other ways it seems like they should be packing their bags and heading off to college - haha.

The girls have grown so much and are becoming their own individual people.

Anna has a cheeky grin and loves to rough-house.
Sasha is gentle but still loves to scream at the top of her lungs.
Josephine likes to make everyone laugh and still expends the least amount of energy as possible!

Here are their one year pics - enjoy!!

Back to Blogging

Well, I've been spending my "free" time on Facebook and have decided that it's too stressful, so I'm back to blogging. This also lets me reach a much wider audience...and will hopefully stop the guilt trips about not posting photos of the girls since Halloween!
It's hard to believe it's February already - we are all ready for spring. We are in search of a triple stroller so I can get out alone with the girls as the weather gets nicer. It's unreal how much they cost, so we're still trying to get over the sticker shock, but we know it will be a good investment.
So, here's a quick update on the girls:
*Sasha has cut her two front bottom teeth
*Anna is in the process of cutting hers
*Josephine is clapping
*Sasha is almost crawling
*Anna rolls around everywhere
*Jo likes to take it easy and hangs out wherever we place her
*All 3 are eating solids like champs - they love all fruits and vegetables

The girls bring us such joy - they are hilarious to watch. I describe myself as a referee - I pretty much sit on the couch while they play on the ground and make sure no blood is drawn. They love to steal eachother's pacifiers (even when they have one in their mouth). They also love to steal whatever their sister has in her hand. So, there's a lot of refereeing to be done! They make eachother laugh (Sasha and Jo especially) and it's awesome to hear it.
What's that? You're interested in Luke and I? How nice! We're doing fine, thanks! Luke is super busy at work, which in this economy is a good thing. I've adjusted to life as a SAHM and keep pretty busy.

Well, enough jabber-jawing.....enjoy these updated pics!!!

A Little Perspective

I've been going through the girl's clothes and putting away all the stuff they don't fit into anymore. It's hard to believe they are now wearing size 6 months!!! Anyways, I found some of the preemie outfits they wore when they came home and found one that we have in size 6 mo. also! It's amazing what a difference 5 months makes...

Go Bears!

Baptism/Baby Naming

This weekend the girls were officially welcomed into our two faiths with a combination baptism/baby naming ceremony. The weekend was a ton of fun. We had many special visitors including Great Grandma Ruth from California and Lee, Wendy and Isabel from Florida. The weekend was so special and the girls did great!

11 Weeks Already!

Sorry it's been a few weeks since my last posting. Luke went back to work and it's been a major transition! Luckily I have tons of help, which I really need. It's funny how I thought I could do this myself - NOT! Help with feedings has been invaluable.

The girls are doing great. Sasha is our little butterball weighing over 10 lbs, while Anna and Jo are teetering around 9 lbs. each. They had their 2-month shots a couple of weeks ago and did really well - a little cranky, but that was to be expected.

I'm hoping to get back on the ball with posting - I appreciate all of your patience!!! Here are latest pics of the girls:

Happy 4th of July!

The girls celebrated the 4th in style by eating, sleeping, pooping and having fun with friends - ah, what a life! We weighed the girls ourselves the other day and were jumping for joy when Sasha weighed in at 8lbs. 11 oz., Anna at 7lbs. 4 oz. and Jo at 7lbs. Of course, these weights aren't official, but it at least gives us an idea of how they are coming along.

Luke heads back to work on Tuesday, so that will be a major adjustment. Luckily I've got tons of helpers lined up (if anyone wants to get on the schedule, just let me know!) Here are some of the latest pics....

Josephine would like to wish everyone a Happy 4th of July.

Anna's deciding if she'd like to wish everyone a Happy 4th...she's not sure.

At Home: Week 2

Week 2 - it's hard to believe - seems like a lifetime! Things are moving along. The girls eat every 4 hours - 4, 8, and 12. Be sure to remember us during these times - especially the 12 AM and 4 AM feedings!!! Luke and I have split those two feedings up and it seems to be working. This gives each of us a chance to get a 5 or 6 hour chunk of sleep, which is nice. Other than that, nothing too exciting going on. Luke has one more week left at home and then I'm on my own (not really). Actually, my Grandma Ruth and Aunt Mary are coming July 5 for the week to help out, so that will be great! We're really looking forward to it, especially since we are missing the McMahon family reunion. Anyways, here's what every body really wants - more pics!

Once again, Sasha tries to tell everyone how it is...

Ahhhh....pacifiers are the best!

If you lose your pacifier, just suck on your sister's hand!

A Few More Pictures

I'm still trying to figure out this blogging thing....here are a couple of more pictures that are pretty funny....

Fun Times at Home

Well, it's been just over a week that all 3 girls are home and we're all surviving. The girls do what they should be doing, which is eating, sleeping, and other fun bodily functions. It's hard to believe it's only been a week - seems like forever! They are sweet girls and show us more of their personalities each day. Sasha remains our most fiesty and loves to let out little screams for absolutley no reason. Anna seems to have a bit of an Irish temper and gets plain old mad sometimes. Jo remains (hopefully for a long time) our mellow girl who just kind of takes everything in stride. Here are more pictures - enjoy!

Home Sweet Home

As of yesterday, all 3 of the Zajac girls are home! The first night went as well as can be expected. I just have to keep telling myself that this is temporary and one day they will sleep through the night. Luke is off for the next couple of weeks, which is great - I'm already dreading his going back!

Below are some pics from their first day home. Enjoy and I'll do more postings when I get the cobwebs out of my head (so in about 6 years - haha!)

Bye Evanston Hospital...we're going to miss our friends, especially Joan, Tracy, Lindsey, Marcy and Francis!

Slow and Steady Wins the "Race"

Not that we are promoting competition between our girls, but Josephine has won the race home! She came home today! She's already had quite the day - she's eaten, peed, slept, and had visitors. She and her big cousin Taylor are already best buds.

Anna and Sasha are doing great, but wanted a little more time to hang out with their nurses at the hospital. If all goes to plan, the three may all be home by this time next week - keep your fingers crossed!

Luke and I are anticipating our first night with a baby. For those of you who know me well, this means I must give up one of my biggest vices...earplugs. I've been a shameful addict since college and now have to go cold turkey. I'm thinking I may not be my usual "chipper" self tomorrow morning...lucky Luke!

The next several days will be hectic with having Jo home and getting to the hospital to see her partners in crime. Somehow we will get it all figured out. We've got lots of choices for babysitters - so we may have to take people up on their offers sooner rather than later!

Now for what you all have really been waiting for - more pics. Enjoy!

3 Peas in a Pod

Who is Who? Can you tell?
Their favorite night nurse, Tracy, took these snapshots of the girls.

So peaceful.....

Party time!

The girls have made some amazing strides in the last several days. All 3 are in open air cribs and all 3 are eating from a bottle on their own, so no more feeding tubes! They are mastering the 3 things they need to do before they can come home - eat from a bottle exclusively, maintain their own temperature and breathe on their own. The babies have small boughts of apnea (just like adults get sleep apnea where their heart rate drops) every once in a while, so once they are apnea-free for 5 days, they can come home! They seem to have their own little competition going as to who will come home first...hopefully our little over-achievers don't wind up all coming home at the same time!!!

Here are some recent weights on the girls:
Sasha - 3 lbs. 14 oz.
Anna & Josephine - 3 lbs. 12 oz.

In case anybody is interested in Luke and I (ha-ha) - we're doing good. I'm feeling much more like myself and have been able to do more around the house to get it ready for the big homecoming. Luke has been back at work for a couple of weeks and will take his 3 week paternity leave when the girls all come home. Tomorrow is his 34th birthday, so we're going to go out for a quiet dinner - just the two of us. We need to take advantage of these last few days of peace and quiet! I'm going to see the Sex and the City movie on Saturday night and I know it will be one of the last movies I go out to see for a long time!
